Rinehart Master Kaster pictures

Post by Reelman »

Here are the pictures everybody is asking for. If you need more please ask. I moved this listing over to the for sale page. I had picked up a rare reel. One that is build into the handle. With unique way to wind up the line. A Rinehart Master Kaster No 2. I was going to use it for trade for something that caught my eye if the person that own the idem that caught my eye could have come to agreement that would make both us happy . Since I already have a pair of them No 2 and a No 3. The info that I under stand about these reels. They are uncertain on how many were build. But most of the people but most believe that I have talk to say under 500. Probably less. The story I was told they were made by or for a doctor. For people that could not wind a reel in normally because of a handicapped. If anybody is interested let me know. I will try to get pictures of it tomorrow. Let me know if you would like to see them. If you would like to see what they look at before I can take pictures of this one. I have my pair on my web page at www.reelman.net under Several Rod & Reel Combos . If you ever want to try fishing with one of these I would recommend. Not pulling it out in front of your friends or older church going ladys. You might never be able to live it down. Sorry this reel is SOLD

Merv: How the H=== do you retrieve the line on that thing? And is that the extent of the rod part or is it telescopic? Sorry, maybe I'm being even slower than usual!

You see the piece of wood on the rod in front of the reel. You pump it up and down. This is this is the reason. I would recommend. Not pulling it out in front of your friends or older church going ladys. You might never be able to live it down. It has worm gear in it as you pump it up and down. And it turns the spool and the level wind worm gear.

Ohhhhh...that certainly would be an interesting vision from the picnic area of a couple fellows in a boat, fishing with those  ...but is that the extent of the rod (so to speak)?

No it is like alot of fishing (rod and poles) all depends on which area of the county you are in. It will fit most fishing rods. You can put different rods in depending which one you like.

Interesting reel, Merv. I've never seen one before and I got quite a chuckle from the previous comments. It's sort of a platypus of fishing reels, eh?

I think the platypus would have to use his tail to thumb that reel, as well.

Very cool, Merv.
