Thomas Cemm reel info
Hello, I am a new member on this site. I was wondering if any members could provide information on a fly reel that recently came into my possession. All I know is that it was made by Thomas Cemm Vancouver B.C. Canada. The reel is bright finish and resembles an older Hardy St John. There is no other name on the reel other than the maker. Thanks in advance.
I dunno, man. The lower mainland is sort of a hotbed for Canadian reelmakers, ever since Peetz.
There used to be a sportfishing museum on Granville Island, the curator of which used to / does / knows people who do hang out here. Maybe he knows.
Last shot if nobody here knows, is if you know a place in Abottsford named Mike's Reel Repair. He has a forum on his website with a lot of local BC hangarounds. BC has a lot of forums, come to think of it.

Cemm reels
Cemm reels were 1 of the best made fly reels ever, are very sought after, and worth a small fortune, depending on the model. Don't know much more other than the fact that i've been unable to find or afford 1. Last 1 offered to me was in very good condition and asking price was $700 Can. Hope this helps a little.

Hi guys! For those of you that are interested, 3 Cemm Reels were sold 2 days ago on Ebay. All 3 reels were listed as being mint in their boxes and were finally sold to a US bidder for just over $1400 US. Bidding was spirited at an average 20 bids per reel ( i stopped after $1100 total ) and the lucky winner got himself some museum grade Canadian reels.
