decent price on a new air compresor!!

Post by SWIM JIG »

:D :) 8) :!:  jump jump usa , My 11 year old compressor gave up working and retired, well While looking for (NEW BLOOD) or NEW AIR< I saw a Aldies food store ad, a brand new true 2 hp 6 gal. compresor with a actual crankcase that hold oil! Thats a very important ite! the price was $79.95 plus tax, Note no hose or blow gun comes with it, As I had my old hose blow gun etc, I now have a new one with a years warrentee that can go to 155lbs air presure and thats all thats needed to dry off reels ect after they come out of the cleaning solution. ( the cost to redo my old machine was $177.00 plush shipping of the parts, guess the new one will do just fine the old one went 9 years so it has earned retirment! Note not all ALDI STORES carry these items. the item # is (AT 01204-6) Your Ohio Conection on Lake Erie Col. Milton Lorens aka SWIM JIG

Compressor

Dang Milt! That is some serious reel cleaning you do! I just slosh parts around in mineral spirits in a margerine tub, brush 'em off and dry 'em with an old T-shirt. Will the compressor work on a lawn mower tire too? Keep on fixin' reels! Bad Bob

will work on anything that needs air to a 125lbs

Post by SWIM JIG »

:D :) 8) :!:  jump jump usa Ram, it is a tank type, that holds air so with the tire chuck fiting you can inflate most tires up to 125 lbs, wont do some truck tires as they require 165 lbs. A hose and assesory pack is avalible at most parts places, you can set the air presure from 5 lbs up to 125 lbs. Thats where I keep mine set at , saves a lot of time and paper towels. As for reel cleanig we do a average of 1500 reels a year! thats just the comercial repair, then when I get tired of comercial reels I do some for myself! As for the compresor it just makes the job easier, Your Ohio Conection On Lake ERIE Col. M. Lorens aka SWIM JIG

Are those tire pressures for hot weather or cold? Sea level or for Denver? If I fill my tires up with this good clean saltwater air will it make my valves stems rust? Do I have to change it to smog when I come up north?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Harv-I thought everything rusted if it stayed in Florida long enough (present company excluded, of course!)

Salt is NOT GOOD FOR anything??

Post by SWIM JIG »

 :?  :bricks:  jump usa , why do you think harvy Squeeks when he walks? darn salt air! Harvy You aint a gona drive no trucks with 19 wheels any way, yes 19 that it takes a loose nut to turn it with! Denver? yoy best ask those airline guys, they will know when they land in DENVER! As for hot and cold? well its for hot after you run them FLAT! What valve stems? those toothy things called aligators use tube stems for a snack!? NAW , no smog up north, only snow! Ram, thats only 30 reels a week or 5 aday for 6 days , I have already done 9 today clean and lubes, got 12 okumas to get done by sunday noon befor the Head boat goes out! Once you get used to it, have all the tools and parts set up, its easy, take the first one apart, thro it in the fluid, while it soaks take another apart clean off the crud, set aside , take out the one in the fluid dry it off, soak the other reel, by that time the other one is looked at check the drags, if ok then lube it re assemble test the drags, and set it aside, take another one apart, set parts in the other screen pan, wash off the one in the other screen tank set aside those parts and put the dirty reel into the tank solution, generaly there is no problems and having all the parts handy in case I need a gear etc, well its fun and easy! I allow 50 mins. per reel if they arenot all mesed up! Well people I have one in the tank to get out and dry and lube and get back together! Harvy when are you coming back up to the RAT HOLE? Col.
