Hi Jim! Certainly a fine reel. I do think that it belongs in Canadian hands.

Seriously though, you have a rare and museum quality reel there. Anyway, heres the info i could dig up. Hope it helps.
The first app. is found in the 1930 Winnepeg directory:
Canadian Bait Mfg. Co.
334 Smith St.
Manager; A.J Bukoske - Home: 818 Alverstone
Street address also shows Canadian Bait Bicycle Sales: Manager: Bukoske
1930-1936: Alverstone address used to run business. In 1937 business moved to 247 NotreDame. Managed by Bukoske at same address until 1957. In 1958 business is taken over by Victoria Bukoske. No further mention of A.J , so i assume that he passed away. Business still run from home address of Alverstone. In 1959, Canadian Bait still at 247 NotreDame , showing President as being one Peter Birch. Bussiness disappears soon after and a travel agency sets up shop at that location. Nothing more after that. Pretty boring stuff, but a lot more info than most other Canadian reel builders.
