OFS July Edition - Reel Talk article

Post by Reel Geezer »

The Old Fishing Stuff web site has been updated for July. The feature article is about the minute details that sometimes derail collectors. This message board is the subject.
Details on Ben Wright's new book are also on the site, along with the OFS eBay report and Ben's Spinning Reel Report.
You can check out all this good information at

Old Fishing Stuff Website Update

Phil, Your fictional story of collectors debating over the details is a lot more non-fictional than fictional. Great story & example! I can say anyone who is interested spin reels will love Ben's new supplement and is a must have! Randy

Geezer, you need to see a generontologist.
I guess that's possible - whatever it is.

Which leads to: between that 4:54 AM post and this one at 9:30, I had a very pleasant dawn on the lake. I launched at 6 (when the gates to the ramp open) and motored about a mile and fished my way back to the ramp and got out of there as the water skiers and 70 MPH bass boaters were just arriving. While they were sleeping or eating breakfast, I caught three nice bass on topwater lures and Bert and I had a wonderful morning. One was 18" and about 3 pounds. If that's seeing my generontologist, I got it done.

  That was a riot, Geez. But you forgot to add the disclaimer: "The events depicted in this dialog are fictitious. Any similarity to any person living or dead is merely coincidental."

it's a fact-filled and historically accurate discussion, excepting the reel in question does in fact have a spitfire finish.
