Shakespeare Model Index Help

Post by Dale Noll »

Decided it was time to make an excel Spreadsheet of Shakespeare Baitcast reels since I could no longer remember correct number with Names.

Found some different Models have the same numerical ID, and vice versa. Also, since I do not have every Shakespeare reel, I need help from others to fill in those missing. When done, I will make the list available to Harvey to include in the Shakespeare S.I.G. and to any others who help along the way.

The first list I have started begins are between 1900 -1999. So here is info typical list as follows:

Model No, Name, Yr ID , Color, Any Special Attributes

1900, Direct Drive, FG, Blue Green, Hard plastic
1901, Acme..., FM, Green,
1902, Thrifty...,
1903,
1904, Acme..., HD, Green,
1905, Deuce..., HF,
1906, Superior..., ED, Brown
1907, Acme..., ?, Black ( Info from Harvey's SIG)
1908,
1909, Black Knight, ?, Black (Info from Harvey's SIG)
1909, Leader...,
1910,
1920, Wondereel...,
1921, Wondereel Light,
1922, Wondereel Deluxe
etc...

So, if someone has reels with numbers between 1910 and 1920, or any of the above where I do not have any info, please send. My only rule is that you must be sure the reel is stamped so we can make sure the info gathered is completely ACCURATE.

Here is a list of Model numbers that I do not have:

1923,1925,1927,1930,1931,1933,1935,1936,1937,19381939,
1941,1942,1943,1945,1946,1947,19481949
1951,1954,1955,1966,1967,1968,1969,1974,1978,1979,
1981 thru 1989,
1991 thru 1999.

Note that the ACME has 3 different designations. Also, some reels carry a letter with the Model number. Be sure to include if you find. One Imperial reel is stamped 1947&1/2. One Service reel is 1944T. So be sure the include if you encounter. I also know that the early 1700 series reels have many names reused on these 1900 series name. That will be another project.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Dale.
