Symplopart 250 disassembly

Post by Dale Noll »

Just got reel at Shipshewana auction last week in northern Indiana. Reel is a 3 pillar model marked No. 250 and 100 yards on frame foot, and Symplopart on the Headplate. Has Takeapart button on Headplate which when depressed allows Headplate to be removed with a twisting action.

My question is how to remove the tailplate?

Is it safe to remove, or should one just loosen the screws that hold two small holding plates inside the tailplate. Then, would the Tailplate just twist off like normal?

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Dale.

Dale, you described it correctly. Remove the headplate using the button, and then just loosen the screws on the inside of the tailplate.

Phil,

Thanks for help. Neat reel in very good condition. Also, has the rod clip with the 4 ground off screw heads, but not the tournament free spool device.

Thanks again.

Dale
