It makes an 8-1/2' trout rod that throws a decent DT5, with a heavy-enough reel. There's also a bait-casting blade .

I've never tried as a short flyrod, and I doubt it works very well, but I have used it as a baitcaster and it works fine. I think maybe its missing a stepdown ferrule piece to make all those combos...
The rod is pristine - I've fished it twice, and I doubt if anybody fished it before me. Flamed cane, all original. The sections are reasonably straight, ferrules are snug. I found the H-I linen bag and it has a quality aluminum tube.
I will take $100 plus the shipping for this rod.
