Folks: I got an inquiry from a woman, responding to the Reel News site, asking for info about her late husband's fishing reel. It's a Shimano Triton Mark 11 and I don't know a thing about Shimanos. I told her they tend to be newer and generally not in the highly "collectible" category. But I promised to find out what I could and report back to her. By the way, she says she e-mailed the Shimano company and they were clueless. Either that or they were simply not helpful. Any info about age, value and the relative "fishy-ness" of this reel would be appreciated.
tnx. Richard

here is some information
It is actually a Mark II, not a Mark 11. The reel was made in 1987. Here's a link that will show you more than you want to know.

If you're looking for a value, it's really about finding someone who wants one to fish with more than finding someone who collects them. There is a fancier model, Triton Mark IV, on Ebay now that ends tonight. It is at $35 right now. The Mark IV was made the same year as the Mark II, but was a little fancier.
I hope this helps.
