Met a fellow and invited him over to the house to look at my "Stuff". Ended up selling his a few reels and gave him a copy of the "Reel News. While scanning thru it, he finds an artical by Bruce Davis and Geezer about Penns. In there he finds that Penn marked reels for Schultz Sporting Goods and that was his first job as a teenager. As you can guess, THE SEARCH IS ON! Within hours he is on the phone calling people lissted in the Reel News about finding one of these reels. He has already located one but has an interest in finding others and reel related items from Schulz. Marked boxes, paper work, ect. If you have anything that you can part with, shoot me an e-mail and a phone number (he is not a inter-netter) and I will pass it along to him. Just let me know it is for the guy with a racecar in his living room. (inside joke).
As I stated, the "Reel News" has another one hooked! As others had said in the past, don't be afraid to show it to someone. Once they see what is written within and the quality of information, if they have any interest at all about reels. that will do the trick. Just by showing it to Ed and taking five minutes to explain what we are all about, we have gained a great guy as a new member.
Oh yea, did I mention that he is hunting stuff from Schulz Sporting Goods from Freeport NY?

Talked to your friend I offered and told him I have Fire Island, Jones Beach, and Southhold from Schultz but hes seems to only be intrested in anything with Freeport NY at this time. He does have some intresting storys about working for Schultz and still has contacts with relatives.
Thanks Bruce. I have a feeling the hook isn't quite set yet so stay tuned. You know how it is. Once you have one, the rest will want to follow him home.
I also gave Todd a contact number.
