Anyone heard of a Bronson Victor levelwind baitcaster? I don't know the reel nor can I find it in any of my references. All help appreciated.

Bronson purchased Meisselbach-Catucci in the early 1930s. They continued to produce the M-C reels unchanged for the next decade. Some of the early 1930s reels are marked "Mfd. by Bronson Reel Co. since June 1931". One of these reels was the #5505 Victor. This reel is found in my 1932-1934 catalogs, but then disappears. Perhaps this is the reel. It has a black "Catucite" (Bakelite) headplate with a nickel plated tailplate.

Bronson manufactured a Victor Model #1000 from 1948 - 1966 with plastic head and tail plates. The reel was usually black, but I do believe I have also seen it in red.

Thanks guys for the info. Got my hands on the reel today and it fits into the Victor 1000 catagory. The ORCA board rules!
