Bad Bob's "Thought for the Week"

Post by RAM »

Random observations about life:

Wisdom seems to be a wasted commodity. By the time you finally accumulate some, it is too late to be of much help to you. If you try to pass it along to younger people they ignore you and make the same dumb mistakes you made.

aahhh, wisdom humor...just can't get enough of it

Bob, you're confusing me. If you know younger people are ignoring you, it's a dumb mistake to try to pass "it" on to them. So if folks are still making dumb mistakes at a ripe old age, maybe wisdom doesn't accumulate at all. In fact, maybe it doesn't exist. Which of course would account for why the planet's going to h--l in a handbasket and why we collect reels.

Wisdom???

Post by RAM »

Example:

Mother had bout with skin cancer. "Wear a hat son!"

I always felt (rightly so) I looked even dumber wearing a billed cap than without. Result at age 50: Skin cancer.

Me to daughter: "You have a family history of skin cancer. Use sun screen!"

Daughter: "You can't get a decent tan wearing SPF-30 sun screen!"

And the beat goes on!

I'm sure being old senile is tons of fun...but personally I'm young and sometimes being a little stupid is fun...in moderation. :D

Hello younguy:

You make a good point. Age will catch up with you soon enough, and you still have a long road ahead of you. Enjoy the ride!

Hello again younguy:

And while you're enjoying that ride, watch for potholes, and wear your seatbelt!

Wisdom is wasted in youth
Now there is the God's honest truth
For if young ones were clever
They'd go pull the lever
And VOTE in their local voting booth

old

Post by m3040c »

I am not old, unless you consider 58 old, I do not. Even though I am not old, I have learned a thing or two in my meager 58 years and I will continue to pass it on to the young. I know they do not listen but at least I get to tell them, "I told you so". :)
