How 'Bout Them Broncos?

Post by RAM »

Great finish to a great game! Zabransky for Heisman! All the more proof we need a playoff to determine the National Champion.
Wife heard me whoop, ran into the room thinking I had run into the piano again. Cheers to BSU Phil!

Bob: As a geologist you should be interested to note the earthquake that shook Oklahoma late last night.

I totally agree with all those proposals for a playoff system. I watched the Broncos participate in several football playoff games back when they were Division II and Division IAA, and it was a very exciting system.

Incidentally, that beautiful facility held a sell out crowd of 73,000+ of which 30,000 were BSU fans.

Geez- 7.2 magnitude 30,000 figures to 16% of the population of Boise-probably a record! Bad Bob

Phil,

I almost posted at 1:30 a.m. Eastern when the game ended in my time zone. I have never seen a game like that in my life. How can you NOT love the Broncos? They beat OU flat out playing straight football, got some bad breaks (the punt, three cracks at the 2 point conversion) and got behind the 8-ball. Then they broke out everything under the sun. It was crazy. I swear it was like intramural football back at the U of M. Hook-and-Lateral? Halfback option? Statue of Liberty? They even tried a flea-flicker (fortunately the halfback ate the ball as it got sniffed out). Simply unbelievable.

Anyone who missed the game will forever regret it. It was the single greatest college football game I have ever seen.

And how about that proposal?

Congrats to Boise and the whole Bronco nation!

A few updates of note:

Several thousand students turned out into downtown Boise after the game last night, and not a car was burned, or a person arrested.

6,000 + fans turned out on the BSU campus this evening to welcome the team home.

Ian Johnson and his fiancee are now in New York City, where they will be on one of the morning shows tomorrow (ABC, I believe). Nothing like an on TV proposal to give you celibrity status.

The great Boise State team that won the Fiesta Bowl will be honored tonight (Saturday) as they win two ESPY Awards. The game was voted the best football game of the year and the two point statue of liberty play that won them the game was voted the best play of the year.

Go Broncos

Yo Geez-They need to play Georgia again. If they can beat the Dogs I'll be a believer. Already a fan. Congrats to the Broncos on the awards-both truly deserved! BB

I saw an advertisement for a computer game that was simulating the OU-Boise game, Oklahoma running back (!) Adrian Peterson runs up and tackles the Boise ball carrier on the last play and then taunts him, stating "I am goliath."

Nothing like rewriting history! I imagine a few Boise fans were cheesed off by this ad. Too bad the entire Sooner team got left with their jockstraps hanging out on that final play in real life.

That game sold out in record time in the Boise Valley. It does not necessarily end in that manner. Plus the cover of the game Pictures BSU Quarterback Gerad Zabransky, not Adrian Peterson.
