"Mitchell 214" sounds like a very rare model number, sure its not a 314? Not so very old, the earliest Mitchells are around 1950.

No worries, Mitchell made 208, 209, 216, 218 & 219 models in a series, there could very well be a 214. These were economy reels that had the Duck Tail body.

The 314 is the round body with push button spool change, basically a modified 304/C.A.P. The 314 came out about 1960-61.
