March Reel News
The March (Annual) issue of the Reel News was mailed yesterday. This issue is 52 pages long, including the member's roster. The largest issue ORCA has ever published. I hope you enjoy it. Our regular bulk mail boss is recovering from surgery so please bear with it if this one takes a couple of extra days.

E-Bay Report
Thanks Phil for the entertaining and educational report, enjoyed evry word of it! And eagerly waiting for March RN--Jack
Got it
My Reel News arrived yesterday (hmm, maybe the PO temp should be hired permanently! that was faster than Priority for me) Thanks for doing such a great job, Phil and all who contributed. To Clinton, welcome to ORCA and sorry I didn't realize you were already a member and on it (the book!). Now I have to give the new member from HI a buzz and "talk story" about reels. Sorry if this doesn't make any sense but read the Reel News when you get yours!
No reel News in Bronson
It gets over an ocean to Hawaii but can't get over Lake Michigan to Bronson? What gives? Anybody but Brian got theirs yet? Maybe they sent it through Canada. I'm still waiting for something from ebay I paid for three weeks ago. Oh oh I guess I should use the new board for that post.

Just an observation. We must be a bunch of lookers. There has been 260 views of this post and only 5 now 6 comments. By the way, still no Reel News and still no package from Canada.
I know third class can sit 3 days each postal station it gets to. Phil do you know how many stops are between Idaho and Bronson

Hello
Yes, I'm new to all this. Swim Jig says there's a Zebco SIG. What's involved with that? Yes, I'm writting a book about Zebco (and I'll need help with that). No I haven't recieved my copy yet (the pony express rider must have fed his horse the wrong kind of grass). If everyone got one new member we would have what, 2000? may I suggest...
From time to time the Smithsonian Instute puts on exhibits regarding various aspects of life in this country. They recently carved up a part of highway 66 near my house and transported it there for one. Fishing is and always has been important to the U.S. (even before there was a "U.S."). Why not put foreward the notion of an exhibit regarding fishing in America? This would involve commercial as well as sport fishing and a study of the boats used too (the larger the exhibit, the better).
Why have I seen so few posts from abroad? Do people in foreign countries not engage in sport fishing? If we associate ourselves with foreign sportfishing organizations could we not find new "kindred spirits" there?
Regards,
Clinton Beeler

Bow fishing misc.
In my opinion, Archery stores, Archery equipment makers, etc., probably
have much info. on subject. Worth looking into ?

Difficulty sending post.
Had to slightly alter my "username" (put in a space) because if I try to post to this board using my old username (same but no space), I get a refusal message saying that username is already taken (Of course it is, I took it !). So now I'm listed as a guest. How do I remedy this situation, and I still want my REELNEWS. Please
Can't use your name?

You probably forgot to log in before you posted your reply. Same thing happened to me the other day. I think there is a box you can check that will automatically log you in anytime you come to the ORCA site. That is what I do now.
Still no Reel News in Bronson either

Reel News
Sorry that the Reel News is taking so long to some places this time. I don't think it really matters since there is nothing dated in our magazine. I don't think that first class mail is an option - it would have cost 1.50 for this issue as compared to 23 cents. Plus dividing those who want to pay an extra $7.50-$10.00 per year for a membership, etc. You should complain to your post office - They know where your bulk mail is sorted. The magazines are sitting in some postal sorting offices. If everyone wants to post your zip code up here, I can tell you where they are sorted to get to your address. Then you should complain to your postmaster.

Finally, the postman gave it up...
The biggest, best Reel News in history arrived in snowy Massachusetts today. I figure some postal carrier was passing the last week hiding in the men's room of the post office and reading MY copy of The Reel News. Great job, Phil! You really did yourself proud with this issue and the excellent directory. Lots of great reading and interesting information on every page! Thanks!

Tis the day before St. Paddy's and still no "Reel News" in Bronson, Michigan. Now the Lord smiled on me yesterday and did deliver a fine advertisement of the 1934 Bronson Models. Ebay seller from Canada swears it was sent in the third week of February. It was stamped March 2nd and got here March 15th.
The lovely thing is but a page long and I've read it many a time. I am longing for my copy of the News and until then I remain GREEN with envy for you lucky souls who have already put the copy in your history files.
If you can't send a copy of the Reel News could you send some green beer?

lansing is still news less
REELNEWS ARRIVED!
Well, it never fails to amaze me - I complain that I haven't received something I'm expecting, I get home and there it is. Yep, and a good one it is, too - scanned it already and can't wait to read it more carefully. That Miller Autocrat (4/0) mentioned in the ebay section now resides in my collection, it is a bright emerald green (beautiful!), and now I'm looking for its mate, which I'm told is red, you know, one for starboard and one for port(?!). Thanks to all.

well, it worked for Ron, so guess I'll *stitch about it not showing up in San diego and see if that makes it show!
Friday update...worked like a charm! the opus was in the mail today! I'll report back as soon as I learn to read.
