looking for information on a reel made by af meissebach& sons patent ended in o9 has a Ivory handle in very good condition. larry

He had a brother. The Simmons Tripart was made for Simmons hardware of St. Louis. The 09 patent is for their free spool and was put on all their casting reels after this date. The handle is made from an early plastic and was called ivoroid, and it is not ivory. Triparts were quite successful for the Meisselbach's so there are jillions of them around, with the greatest value in this reel being the Simmons name, which is not really rare either. For a value, just do a search on eBay and add about $10 to any Tripart with the 09 patent, for the Simmons name. Despite being common, they are a great reel.
