Relief and wet wading

Post by Jack Bright »

Phil just read your remarks RE politics, etc., too much gobbledegook for
me and saw that you are having HOT (100 temp.) days your way, would
bet you, Bert, and maybe even Marilyn have tried the subject ? You guys
doing Louisville ?

Hey Jack: lastly, we are not "doing Louisville." Actually, we are doing Lake Shore Drive.

Firstly, I don't have the beauty of Ron's cypress, but yes, Bert and I do wade the riffles of the Snake at this time of year. Water temps are around 73 now, so it is a bit cool at first. Boise has been over 100 for a couple of days, but here on the lake it was up around 94 yesterday and 93 today. This morning it was 64 when I hit the river. I fished for around 3 hours and got 6 smallmouth and a nice channel cat. I did hook a beauty of a smallie - over 18" - but he threw the lure on a jump. He had me whipped the whole time I had him on too. At first I thought I had foul hooked a big carp. It was great fun. I did get over 30 smallies one morning earlier this week.
