Pflueger Supreme reel

Post by SgtMaj »

I have a Supreme reel that I am disassembling.I can't figure out how to remove the crank handle from the crank shaft. There is a slotted nut cover that turns over either a brass nut or the crank shaft. There are 2 round holes on either side of another slot on the top of this brass piece. The nut cover turns but does not screw off.
HELP please. How do I proceed to disassemble this reel?

:) 8) :!:  :type: Ok, as you are (new) and most likly didnt get the issue with the break down, i will atempt to advise how that handle screw comes off! As you noted turn the outer nut untill you see a sloy, its oposite of the 2 holes, take a WELL FITTING Screw dreiver and place into the slot, turn from right to left , just like you would take out any screw, as to fruther take down you will need a diagram as it is a bit complicated, If you will send me a self addresed 2 stamps please in a business size envelope I in turn will mail you back a copy of the factory repair pages. Colonel sir,I got the reel apart, cleaned, lubed and back together again. The 2 piece crank shaft race(adjuster)was a challenge to seperate and remove for service but the job is complete. The action is smooth as silk.
I wont bother you for the schematics as I now know how to take one apart.
Thanks

Colonel, that sounds interesting.Could you give me the Supreme free spool reel model number? In your opinion how much money is a fair price for one in "good" condition.I'm not interested in the box etc.,just the reel.
What is your opinion,if any, reguarding Langley baitcasters?Especially the "Whitecap" model.
Thanks

:) :!:  :type: Ok so from the 510 511 512 513, they are the ones with the free spool that is a bit touchy to work on and then set up properly, the adj plate has some small round cast into the plate uprites, if they are adj. wrong or they are over ridden then that part is shot! and not too easy to find , The pricing is subjective and we use Lawsons 3rd edition, and the narrow spool reels are more desirable, also some had the fish on the head plate, some had a bas in a emblem on the head plate. In buying one you best know the seller or get a inspection privlage or attend a show! Price is subjective, I will stay clear of that issue! We have over 50 of them, use them for fishing, etc. My offer still stands, if you want a copy send a self addresed stamped business size envelope, I will send back copies of factory pages. When you get one working properly , the action is one of true casting plesure to use. Col. Milton Lorens aka SWIM JIG ORCA members please place some imput on pricing !
