Humidity is the amount of water vapor in the air! Can you have 100% humidity,and if so,wouldn't that mean there would be a solid sheet of water with no air at all in between?

90 degrees with 100% humidity and you would wish there was a solid sheet of water in the air!

Make that 99 degrees with 98 percent humity and you'll know what North Carolina has been like for the last few weeks! And that's with no rain. Worst August in years for here.

that's "relative humidity"

100% is saturation, i.e., the onset of condensation - fog or rain.
There's still room for the air.

I'll be fishing the Bristol Bay watershed near King Salmon, for a week, in mid October. You just reminded me to pack my longjohns, hats, gloves and handwarmers!
