tow pfleuger reels

Post by Ray Lawrence »

I have my grandfather pfleuger reels. They are on steel casting rods. I never new my grandad, but I can remember my dad saying they were jeweled reels. If anyone could give me any information on them I would be very thankful. Ray

Ray,

The reels can run in value from a couple dollars to a couple hundred dollars, the rods from a dollar to $150, depending on model, age, and condition. The more details you can give us, the more specific we can be on value. Pictures are especially helpful.

Len

PS The "jewels" are industrial and have no gem value.

"Jewelled" pertains to the glass or agate end caps that the spool shaft is held in place by.I may be wrong on this matter though and if so would welcome correction.
What are the names and/or model #s of the reels? That would be a good place to start.
