I just found this site while trying to get info on a real I just purchased.
It is a jc Higgins conventional reeModel #30: 42170...really its a Penn 149 made by Penn for Sears. The reel is in pretty good shape and am planning to use it unless the value makes that impractical. Any info known regarding its age, value, line capacity and gear ratio would really be great
