WANTED: PENN 855LC, 875LC, 895LC

Post by Ed Barrett »

Hi,
I am looking for a Penn 855, 875, or a 895 reels with line counters. Perfer a 855 LC, but will consider all models. These reels were mfg. about 4 years age and subsequently discontinued. New or used condition OK.
Call me at 707-374-1349 if you have any information as to where I can find one. Thank you. Ed

:) :!: :?:  :type: jump usa , Ed, you are in the heart of salt water reels! what I remeber of those modles they were not of the best of durability, darn plastic parts and failed parts! the Line counter was a joke!, Ok nuf on the problems! here is soame places you may find them, (ANGLERS MART they handle close outs etc (1-800 874 9400) fax 352, 793 1337) web site (gone) If you have a dealer friend in the tackle business see if they will give you a few coppies of the FTR mag ie Fishing Tackle Retailer, or if you are in the tackle business or soort fishing business you can recive your own copy, just use the form in the mag! Also contact and wholesale distributors , if you email me with your address I will send you a list, as they only do business with valid folks in business with a valid state sales tax permit! another very large retailer is Captain harrys in Ft. lauderdale and Miami, I dont have that handy at the moment, they also handle parts and make custom RODS! PENN LC 855 - 875 - 895

Post by Ed Barrett »

Hi Milton,

Yes, I have to agree with you that the subject eletronic reels were not very "bullet proof". Ms. Rittenhouse, 401-323-9914, has asked me to help her find a Penn LC 855. It seems that her son dropped one of these reels overboard that did not belong to him. So she feels that it is incumbent on her to help him find one to replace the one lost.

eBay has two reels, 360005000216 a 875 and a 895 number 360004999365 currently listed with an opening bid of $70.00 and $80.00 respectively. I passed this information on to her, but I have not received a reply as of this time.

Thanks again for your help.
