FS Spiralwind Spot Cast Reel Needs Parts

Post by drexelantiques »

I bought some reels today, included with them is the pictured Spiral Wind reel. I have one in my collection, otherwise I would just look for the parts.

It needs a spool cap on the handle side, as shown. And could stand replacement of the whole handle, or one of the grips if you are capable of pulling the rivet and doing that. One of the grips is broken, as shown. The reel has some scratches, is dirty, but would clean up much nicer than it is. It appears to work as designed, but I did not tear it down. I am sure it will operate better with cleaning and lubrication. Aluminum sideplates. Says on the bottom of the foot Patented in England and Pat. in Canada 1937, then has US patent numbers and etc. Made in the US. 2 1/2 inches high, width of spool 2 1/2 inches.

I would like to get $35.00 including shipping, in the US. Shipping will cost more if if it is going international.

But if you want to make an offer, please do so.

I can take Paypal, US Check or Money order.

First e-mail saying they will take it, gets it.

Post by SWIM JIG »

:o :? :!: :?:  :type: jump usa, Jeff, that bearing cap looks like the Pfluger metal cap they used on some of the lower end reels! check it with another bearing cap of pflugers! My Spiral winds are different and caps are different, also the wind parts are about the same as the spiral wind PENN reel! let me look around to see what I have! also is the drivin gear on the worm ie spiral part good? these cracked and on some a shakespere gear will interchange all you have to do is match the teeth. these reels used a hodge podge of various other makes of reels for parts! Onec you get it working THEY ARE A BLAST to use! Col. Milton lorens aka swim jig of Ohio 44001

Any takers? Otherwise I will just find the handle and cap, and clean it up to sell myself.
