Need Acme parts or parts reel

Post by Reelman2 »

I need both end caps for The Acme reel I have. I also need some of the screws on the face plate. I need one that holds the foot on, both parallell screws and one in the middle of the reel. If anyone has the parts or has a parts reel with them I would appreciate it.

Is that a Montague or a Shakespeare "ACME" reel? There were several versions of the Shakespeare Acme...really need photos of your reel.

Yes, it is a Montague. I have that model and will pull the screws out and see if they are interchangeable with a more common Montague, and what end caps it takes.

I have good news and bad news. The good news is the screws I tried seemed interchangeable with the two random Montague NLW baitcasters I pulled off the shelf. The bad news is that the end caps are among the more difficult to find; I have attached a picture here of the proper end caps for this model:

You'll have to find a beater--likely of this kind of hard rubber model Montague--if you want to find the proper end caps for it. They do show up on eBay but not as often as you'd think.
