Decree!

Post by RAM »

As of today, the word "government" or any of its subdivisions (e.g. Treasury) when used in reference to any pecuniary subject will be substituted with the word "we". This is a mandatory requirement, with no exceptions to be allowed. Penalties for failure to conform will be determined shortly.

Example: The "government" (Treasury) Sunday took over operations of both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The "government" now, for all practical considerations, is in control of the national mortgage business, and estimates of the eventual cost to taxpayers to bail out the system range upward from $100 billion.

From today on "we", not "the government", are resposible for over a trillion dollars worth of mortgages, many of which are worthless.

The "government" has only three ways to pay for anything: Raise taxes ("we" pay), borrow ("we" repay), or most likely, print the needed money ("we" pay in inflated prices).

Bad Bob
PS:If you are a solidly successful company the government takes your profits in high taxes. If you are an abyssmal failure as a company "we" bail you out. Is this a great country or what?

Soon to be nationalized:

Auto industry (losing more that Freddie and Fannie)
Airline industry (losing more than auto industry)
Health industry (making bozillions but nobody is happy except the ones making bozillions)
Energy industry (also making bozillions but the only way to force all carbon emitters out of business)

Sure glad "we" have so much money!

I highly recommend this book for those of you who want to know what's really driving these problems behind the scenes. You can order it, or get it from your library -- You will be amazed!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_World_is_Flat

It is a current bestseller entitled:

The World is Flat: A Brief History of the 21st Century

It is an enjoyable and informative read by Thomas L. Friedman, an award winning author. Easy, Quick & very interesting.

Our politicians need to read this.

Best, Fred
