ID: Vom Hofe copy? (w/photo link)

I have a reel that looks something like a Vom Hofe: German Silver and hard rubber; very well made (even the foot and counterbalance on the reel handle are held on with screws); the handle nut has a ratchet and pawl type lock (?); leather thumb brake; the only markings are "Elberon" in script on the right sideplate and "300" on the foot.
