Wanted PENN 4500SS ASAP

Post by Ed Barrett »

Hi Folks,

Do you know of anybody who wants to sell a PENN 4500SS graphite body spinning reel? Brad at 503-873-8793 is looking for one before his friend goes to Mexico on 01-09-09.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Ed :D

I have a Penn 4500ss with no bail. When i had the bail on the reel it would never snap back when you start to reel. Turns out a little round peice in the rotor broke. So basically everything on the reel is in perfect working order except the rotor is broke and bail is missing. Is this what you need?

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. Since the party that wants these reels are going to Mexico, I believe that they would want the bail and return feature intact. If you would call the above number perhaps would could get a more detailed answer. Best regards. Ed :D

Penn 4500SS

Why not just get a new one? They are inexpensive, around $80. Note that Penn has replaced the 4500SS with the 450SSg, a reel that is virtually identical to its predecessor. However, if you plan to fish it, I'd really recommend the Penn Slammer a much, much better reel.

Hi Bill,

I will pass your suggestion on. I believe that the party that is interested in these reels wants one manufactured and assumbled in the USA. Of course that up to him.

The 450Sg also has the trip friction ramp that prevents premature bail trip when casting.

Thank you for taking the time to answer our inquiry.

Best regards.
