Some useful links

Post by Steve »

These little essays cover some of our favorite subjects, including reel bearings (Down Memory Lane, eh, Todd?), sonic bathing, lubricating, etc. Other pages at the website cover disassembly of various newer reels. Check 'em out.

Now that is one boat load of interesting information. Sure sheds some light on why the quality of reels differ and how to keep your favorites in, or upgrade them to, top notch condition. I could even relate the ceramic bearing portion to rod guide applications and choices.

Thanks for the links Steve, great reading with more to search out!

ChuckE wrote some great maintenance articles for Tackle Tour. There are a lot more in their archives if you are interested in working on modern reels.

It was good to see my Meisselbach Take Apart is still up there in the third link.

Wow! Excellent articles. And the links are still good. That old Meisselbach is gorgeous!

Thank you much! I love learning about mechanical stuff and maint./repairs of them, especially fishing and shooting gear.
