Naturalist friend of mine once said, upon viewing an entire city under water (in S. Dakota or Iowa, take your pick) that even a groundhog has more sense than to live in a flood plain. Ground hogs generally don't care, I suspect, whether the sun is out on Feb. 2 or not, but do care if someone drags their --s out anyhow.

It was nice to note that the New York City groundhog (there is one?) bit Mayor Bloomberg when hoisted aloft for the cameras.

Can't you just see all that chewed up cement in front of the groundhog hole?
