Brilliant Idea!!!

Post by RAM »

Why hasn't someone thought of this before? DST was moved back a month this year to save more energy. Why not move the time to set clocks forward all the way back to the 1st weekend in January, then move the time forward to set clocks back one hour to the same weekend. Then not only do we save six times more energy than we once did under the old system, nobody has to ever reset all their clocks and watches! We will always be on standard time, we can play golf and fish late all year and Al will be happy we are saving so much energy. And think how much better all the green things will grow with that extra daylight we are saving all year long! I mean, why do they call it Daylight Saving time if we don't actually save it?

Am I a genius or what? Email your congressman now!

Interesting aside on DST (seriously this time). Arizona and Hawaii don't do the DST thing. May be a political thing in Arizona. As for Hawaii, they are so far away in time zones fools like me have trouble already knowing when to call Brian, why confuse us more with DST?

But here is the fact few pay attention to (or really need to). Hawaii has the fewest daylight hours in summer of any state, and the most in winter, being they are the farthest south. Right Brian? Of course, Alaska has the opposite situation. So much for latitude trivia. You would think that having less daylight, Hawaii would want DST since it saves daylight. It does, doesn't it? Tell me it's not a hoax!
