Peoria National Finds

Post by Bill Muth »

Had a good show, found something to buy each day and sold a bunch of stuff. Highlights for my Horton collection included a Horton Meek No. 3 narrow spool tournament reel in the box with extra handle, a Horton Meek No. 30 in aluminum in the correctly marked box with papers, and a Horton Bristol No. 63 NIB w/ papers. The other two are a B.F. Meek & Sons No. 3 in a smaller than usual size and a Horton Meek No. 4. Special thanks to ORCA member Henry Caldwell for hooking me up with the first two. ORCA was well represented at the show and several nice items changed hands. A small Billinghurst reel showed up in Friday night's auction and sold for $1600, and they also had a Bronson reel in the box that belonged to Fred Arbogast.

Congrats Bill,
Those reels found a happy home. Can't wait to see your collection again. I am sure it has grown a lot since you brought them to the Dowagiac ORCA National! :-)
