Announcing... The Department of Strange Reels

Post by clinton_beeler »

Welcome to the Department of Strange Reels.

Exhibit A:

Image

This reel came to us from the estate of R.D. Hull.
The front cover is 3-3/4 inches in diameter and the center hole measures 1-7/8 inches. Both it and the spinner head are made of spun aluminum.
The body appears to be that of a "standard" model with its vertical disengage button. There is no anti-reverse (anti-reverse is for wussies, right?) or clutch mechanism (if you don't need the anti-reverse..., right?).
It has no back cover, but I tried one from a "standard" and it fit. The inside of the body says "ALCOA". This reel does have one option, a clicker.

Now lets see someone else's strange reel!

Regards,
Clinton
