I have a fly reel that I inherited from my great Grandfather. I do not know very much about antique reels and would love for somebody to tell me about this reel and what the value might be. The only marking on it is as follows:
Wyers Paris Freres
Importe
D 'Angleterre

I would appreciate all of your help.

Fly reel
Interesting reel you have. I believe that Wyers Freres was a high end tackle shop in Paris late 1800's-1900's. Hardy's was one of the lines that they represented however, I don't think your reel was made by them. If you could send me close up pictures of the insides and all the markings on the outside of the reel, I could possibly tell you who made it. My information about the company is pretty sketchy but I'll try. You can email me at if you wish.
