Yes, I have one and I was just wondering when it was made. It's in wonderful condition and the engraving is like nothing I have ever seen on anything (much less a fishing reel). Looks to me like 1920s or 30s. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Clinton
P.S. When it came into my hands it had four different kinds of line on it beginning with braided on the bottom and lighter weights toward the top.
Clinto, you have a rather commonreel were made from the 40s some before and up thru the 50s. The (engraving you see is machine done, they used a stamping die, also evpermented with acid etching, I got my first one in 1944 for a high sum of $5.75 + tax at 3% ( done a lot of lawn mowing to earn it I got from .35cents to a dollar to use a push mower!) These reel have several vairiations, they are still a barging in the collecting feid at this time. One weak point is the handle, they will get a hairline fracture where the nut tightens down, so always look closly at that part or if allowed remove the nut and inspect the handle fron and back side! For a added sales incentive a lot of compainies both large laike sears, wards, western auto etc had the embelished faux engraving on the reels, I just grabed a few and one is a wards sort king No. 60 -6310 Modle 5C Mongomory wards co. Chicago, Its a nicly done reel and looks like Bronson. Clinto in my book these are sleepers, and a posible reasonable way to bulid a nice collection. AGAIN YOUR REEL IS NOT a High Dollar, however one of the smother bait casters, we still use them! Your Ohio conection Col. Milton lorens aka SWIM JIG
