Shakes service reel model 1946

Post by arley »

good evening-
I bought a bunch of spinning reels and this one was with it.It has the box and an instruction pamphlet. It's a nice clean reel and everything seems to work .
Baitcasters are not my thing-not enough room in the braincase to learn about them.
Is this reel common? does it have any value? not very much I think per Ebay completed auctions. Would someone trade me a nice collectible UL spinning reel or some Phillips Lures from Alexandria ,Pa for it? Would somebody make an offer?Does anybody even want it?

Arley...could we see a couple pics? They made a lot of these, so it's not a screamer, but certainly better than a stick in the eye with the box and papers. I can likely find a UL for you if you give me hints. drop me an email with your wants and pics if you have them. I can post them for you.

Here are pics of Arley's reel...it's a newer model Service, rather than the pre-levelwind I had envisioned (hoped for!). Someone come trade him out of it with an ultralight!
