Oh, I searched our archives for the definition used by House of Hardy (they've removed vintage reels from their website).
55-99 years old was the range they listed for Vintage.

The dates they used, however, also corresponded to the end of WWII as the end of the Vintage era.

we've also discussed this more than a couple of times

When you say something is antique, you are saying it is at least a certain number of years old. Some sources say 100 years, some 75.

But when you say something is vintage, you are refering to it being made a certain year, or during a certain period of years.

Vintage originally referred to wine, and the year a wine was made.

So a reel could be vintage 1960, if it was made in 1960. Or vintage 2005 if it was made in 2005.

It could be vintage 1960s if it was made during the 1960s.

But vintage does not mean it is a certain number of years old, by itself.

The word vintage has two usages.

One is to the model of a particular period, which applies to the crop of grapes idea.

The second is to an absolute age reference range and, for us, this is the most important usage.
