This may be a crazy idea, BUT here it is: Have the club sponsor a retired
individual with OLD tackle and have him/her compete in some of the
national tournaments, this could stir up a lot of interest and free publicity
it wouldn`t matter where they finished competitively the interest generated
could be well worth the cost. Might suggest donations among members to
sponsor the contestant. NOT me ! Someone like Phil White, that age group.

Fishing tournaments
Glad Phil--You and other competent fishers have Idaho, Utah and Wyoming,
2 or 3 locals to cover tourneys in Tex., Ark., and LA. and so on. Those that
can afford time off during the week. Just imagine: a pic. of `Joe` with his
Meek, old casting rod and old lure and neat caption describing such might
just stimulate a whole new tackle craze. . . hmmm.
