Question about a Delite ...

I just picked up a Delite and the inside of the headplate looks like this ...

I don't remember ever having one that was all metal like this on the inside. Is this unusual... or have I just not been paying attention?

It's one of two neat reels I picked up recently...

Mine have the all metal interior side of head plate only, too. Bill Land.
