Interesting reels at the Albany NFLCC show

Post by Jim Schottenham »

Some great reels were displayed and some for sale at the Albany, New York NFLCC show today. Dan Milewski had a few great homemade reels, like this "lighter than air" casting reel, that may be Gutta Percha or wood:
This thing was really light as a feather
He also had a great brass reel:

George Canzeri brought this little revolving plate fly reel, marked Heaton's. Anyone have any information on this reel? I can't find much info, other than the company was formed in 1857. Any idea of age on this one?

The 2" diameter Philbrook and Payne (pre-patent)marblized fly reel that John and Debbie Ganung have for the fall auction is awesome.
For a lure show, there were some interesting reels!
