Northern Lights Photo

Post by Jason »

I noticed the northern lights are quite spectacular tonight and while I'm no photographer, there is a live webcam nearby that does a pretty good job.

For those of you who stay up late...or get up early- the best time for viewing is around midnight and 2 AM (4-6AM Eastern time).

Now I don't have to stand out in the cold.

Or you can watch a lime lapse video for any given day in 60 second intervals.

Wow. I remember as a kid watching the Northern Lights flicker half way across the sky in northern Wisconsin -- they were so bright you could read a newspaper. But I don't ever recall seeing them as memorable as that!

COOL! Although no lights at the mo... :(
I'll return when I've figured out the time of the day/night I have to be in here to hopefuly see some action... as I'm in Denmark, Scandinavia.

OH! :-D .. The Northern Star (the uppermost one) and The Big Dipper is there too... that's nice .. and telling us that the camera is pointing due North.
