No, I don't think so, Laurie. Everol has always run their own show. Several similar rumors abound, though- it's a common misconception. I don't know Rosetti, though- who was that? And where? Just to make sure I'll ask Mr Everol next time I talk to him.
About Gladiator, bear in mind that there are two: The older, Italian reels of which we speak now, which ceased production some time ago, and the newer production reels made in SEA and touted as Italian but sold with the name Gladiator anyway. Strangely, nobody seems willing to fess upp to being responsible for them or their peculiar similarity to Alutecnos.
Sharkkiller, about value: Dunno, really. They come up from time to time, but not very often. Did you do an Ended-Auction search? That's as good a gauge as any.

Gladiator
I had a 12/0 Gladiator a while back that was marked "Rosetti" and "Made in Italy."
I may be wrong, but I feel the same way about Everol and Rosetti that I do about Perez and Holzmann: It's almost impossible to imagine that there was no connection between them.

Oh, sure- They might've known each other. It's a small world, after all. Like I said, I'll ask. Unfortunately though, the real Mr Everol himself (Everol is an acronym... his name was Elio Veroli) is now dead, and has been for many years. The now-Mr Everol is the son of the other original founder. Maybe he remembers anyway.
Later,
Doc.
