A very nice early example with the early hard rubber side-plates that are machined to slant gracefully inward. The reel also has the B-OCEAN stamping on the rear oil cap, early star drag and fancy elongated handle found only on the hard to find 9/0 and 12/0 versions of this reel. The spool is in great condition and is quite unusual as its bells come out quite a way from the rims on either side of the reel. Parts of the reel are tarnished but for the most part the reel is quite clean and there is no corrosion or pitting. The reel is in as found uncleaned condition and should clean up to Very Good+ or Excellent- condition. The foot is full length and is marked 9/0 and has the additional stamping - B363. The reel has two clicks, one rim mounted and the other a sliding click on the rear side plate. The front rim throw operates the free-spool. The drag is smooth. Everything functions just as it should. Unlike its 9/0 Edward counterpart which is relatively common the Julius 9/0 is a pretty scarce critter.
