Nice restoration!

I see a lot of gizmos on that reel for braking. It looks like the one you have on the finished product is different from the two "things" on the original. Can you take a couple pictures of the brakes from a different angle?

My pleasure Wayne. Actually the reel had 1-1/2 brakes on it before I tore it down for cleaning. It had a Gem Thumb Brake (On page 37 of Pflueger Catalog No 44, 1924) and the remenents Mount portion only) of a standard leather thumb brake (leather missing) that is made of copper.
