...and a chance to be proactive about an important problem at no cost. Merv Bortner dropped me a note pointing out this program to help kids that really need it. I know it's out of character for a board post here, but seemed a good add to this page and worth consideration. It's a program where several major food manufacturers will make donations to provide meals to homeless children based on our purchases. I haven't done this yet, but looks dead simple...enter a code number off the packaging of particular food items from the contributing companies into a box on this site: http://www.childhungerendshere.com/Html/Index.html and hit enter...a donation is made by the company...simple, free, and maybe it will do some good...pls give it a look! Merv assures me that he has been doing it for quite some time and has not seen any increase in spam or other problem that sometimes happens.and while you're at it, give Merv a call or email. He's had a tough row to hoe for a couple years and is confined to bed, but is still very active in his reel collecting and loves this hobby. I'm sure he'd love to hear from you!
