Help to ID..Is this a Malleson?

Please look at the attached pictures of a recent addition to my collection this summer.
I believe it to be a Malleson but I am not sure. The reel is unmarked, appears to be plated brass and is heavy for it's size.

It's a Whiting & Hendrick, ca. 1886.

marked 'Whiting & Hendrick'

The two arrow levers on the back had me perplexed.
