Hi everyone, just after a little bit of advice. My grandad, a keen fisherman, has recently passed away and left me a load of sporting goods. I have managed to identify a lot of his things but am after some more info on a a fishing rod of his.
It looks pretty old to say the least! I can make out an inscription of T.Pape - this is the maker right?
Where could I find info about the maker?
I know shamefully little about fishing equipment but am sure you guys know a bit!
It's in three pieces, hardwood with what appears to be copper rings painted. I have pictures available but wasn't sure how to post them. will email them to anyone who can help me
Sorry for being an ignorant fool! and thanks in advance
Help on identifying a T.Pape rod
T.Pape
I went through this same problem but with a reel. From what I found T. Pape made fishing equipment between 1860 and 1914, in Newcastle UK.
The replies are on the forum( bottom of the page ) if you find more information let me know.

Pape rod
No other marks to be found. I have come to the conclusion that it's probably a cheap 'own brand' type of rod. I just wanted to check it wasn't valuable before giving it away. All the good fishing gear got nabbed by my uncle!
Thanks for the help, I'm going to offer it up on ebay for peanuts if anyone wants it. I'll be honest it is very plain but might be of interest for a few quid!

Pape Rod
I've just put the rod up on ebay if anyone wants a look at it!
