L.W. Holmes reels (Price reduction)

Post by Richard Lodge »

Time to part with my collection of L.W. Holmes fishing reels. Holmes was a reel-maker in Oronoque (Stratford), Conn., from after WWII to the early 1950s. His reels are extremely well machined and these examples are as good as any you'll find anywhere. Holmes made reels for Abercrombie & Fitch. I'll only sell these as a set: 3 salmon reels of different designs and their three boxes. The reel on the right, marketed for salmon, steelhead and bonefish, is the fanciest, highest grade reel I believe Lesley Holmes made. You might not find another one of these. Price for the 3, in boxes, shipped in the US is NOW $375 (payment with money order or your good check). I'll consider quality brass clamp reels or skeleton fly reels in boxes that I don't already have, as partial trade. Thanks for looking!
