Shelling corn in July!!!

Post by Capt. Kirk »

Several farmers shelling corn today and is testing at 16! Never seen a year like this, but at least we have some to shell, I hear southern Illinois is disking theirs under. Still no rain. I've got 1 tenth of an inch since before Fathers day. But on the bright side our lake has not had a fish kill like several in the area and my well is keeping up. Lake is down about a foot and a half (several good springs in it).

Rub it in.LOL I didn't get to taste 1 ear of Illini Sweet this year. But we got 2.2 inches of rain last night. Places got up to 6 inches. To late for the corn but it should save the beans and it sure helped the lakes and streams, mine included.
