That is just simply beautiful! WOW! (forgive me, Im a 'newbie' - kinda)
I have collected tackle for over 20 yrs. but just now really starting to get into the reel alot. I would love to have one of these but can only imagine what kind of price they fetch?!

Must weigh a ton! A neat reel, obviously held hostage by an someone who thought a reel should look as good - or better - than the angler using it. Very cool!
Alas, I have nothing to add about the origin of this reel or the maker. Dick's suggestion is a good place to start. Let us know what you find out, Ed!

Thanks for all your comments and help. Since this is not the type of reel I collect I have listed the reel on e-bay for sale. I hope it finds a good new home, it is a very special reel.

wow from me too, not what i collect either but id love to have it,its almost out of range for me and i bet it goes way out
