For your consideration is this fine Julius Vom Hofe raised pillar salmon reel with the July 22, 1890 Ed Payne (to Thomas Mills) patent stamped on the rear mounted sliding drag. This is the exact hard rubber German silver reel that Julius Vom Hofe made for H. L. Leonard only this example does not bear the Leonard stamp. This example also has the classic early tapered handle with the fancy counterbalance and is in near excellent condition. With its fixed check and sliding drag functioning as they should it would be hard to find a nicer example of this classic early American fly reel made in the late 1800s.PRICE - $1275.00 which includes shipping and insurance in the US.
